Here at Stop Organ Trafficking, we showcase the businesses in which we invest. We support everyday people with meaningful ideas. Each month, we spotlight three entrepreneurs who have turned their ideas into jobs for Moldova. This month, we are proud to introduce:
1) nooca: Design. Content. Quality.
nooca is a brand of natural duck puff and feather jackets made locally in Moldova. The brand name means "walnut," and embodies the brand because walnuts are recognized and loved universally. Although the brand does utilize imported materials, the duck puff and workforce are local. Their jackets are colorful, practical, and combine elegance with a sporty style. Margareta Pasarenco, the company's manager, believes in collecting feedback from domestic consumers to further tailor the brand to suit the needs of Moldovans. For example, longer coats for women are in the works. Click the logo above to shop!
2) The Flat Company: Transformer Furniture

Founded by programmer Vitaly Kozyulkov, The Flat Company manufactures transformer furniture - furniture which changes its shape based on the needs of its owner. The company recently introduced a bed, which goes up and down via a remote control. These beds are extremely useful towards saving space. Stay tuned for updates about when their website will launch.
3) Vardanean brânză: Traditional Armenian Cheeses

Oganes Vardanean, of Armenian origin, sought to bring the tradition of starting and finishing the day with cheese to Moldova. Currently, his enterprise manufactures two types of traditional Armenian cheeses. The first is "Liana," a semisolid cheese that is shaped like sausages. When used, it is customary to tear it into several strings. The second is "Artur," a semisolid cheese shaped like briquettes. Artur is best eaten cut into cubes or slices. His company's cheeses are made with no additives or chemical substances and he sources the cow's milk from local Moldovan farmers, who thanks to his orders, are able to significantly increase their milk production. Find his cheeses in local restaurants and on the shelves of supermarket chains No. 1, Fourchette, and in 42 Salamer stores operating throughout Moldova.
